Midwifery Women’s Care offers convenient access to women's health services in Boca Raton, Florida and the surrounding areas. The providers at Midwifery Women's Care see patients for obstetrics, gynecology, menopause, adolescent, and teenage care. The practice offers well-woman care, contraceptive care, minimally invasive GYN surgery, and provides solutions to chronic pelvic pain along with other GYN complications.

Midwifery Women’s Care opened its doors in July of 2014, founded by two incredibly talented midwives, Kathy Fair and Christine Hackshaw. The midwives share over 35 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology. The office staff and providers are a talented team made up of friendly, knowledgeable, and caring individuals eager to provide the best care available. Dr. Mario Gross joined the practice in 2018; a board-certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology with over 30 years of experience. Together, their passion for medicine, experience, and diligence in patient care has created one of the most appealing and loved midwifery practices in South Florida. With such a large team, Midwifery Women’s Care is able to offer many different services.

Our Team

  • Dr. Mario M. Gross

    OB-GYN

    Dr. Mario M. Gross is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Boca Raton Florida and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital and West Boca Medical Center. Dr. Gross is board certified from the Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Gross has extensive experience in Gynecologic Conditions. Dr. Gross completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Detroit Medical Center and received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Gross has held licenses and practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in Illinois, Texas and Florida. He has been in practice for more than 30 years.;

  • Kathy Fair

    CNM, MSN, APRN

    Kathy Fair graduated from the University of Miami in 1994 with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and in 1995 with a Master’s in Nursing as the valedictorian of her class. Her enthusiasm and genuine care for her patients over the years has allowed her to become one of the few midwives in the state of Florida to own and manage her own practice, Midwifery Women’s Care. She is not only a revered certified midwife, but is also intimately involved in the community by providing women education on subjects such as childbirth and women’s health. Mrs. Fair has over 25 years of experience in obstetrics and general women’s care and is currently the President of the Southeast Florida chapter of the American College of Nurse Midwives and executive board member of the Florida council for ACNM. She enjoys making a difference in women’s life and helping expecting mothers bring their child into the world with the utmost excellence in care. Leading by example, Kathy encourages healthy lifestyles for her patients, enjoying healthy meals, cross-fit training and running in several marathons throughout the year; any time off is spent with her loving husband and children. Her patients consider her more than a mere health care provider as she pours herself into their care, treating them like family and seeking the utmost in her patients’ comfort and care. 

  • Christine Hackshaw

    CNM, MSN, APRN

    Christine Hackshaw ​graduated from the University of Florida in 1991 with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and in 2003 with a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Miami. She is a dedicated practitioner, devoted to the seeking of excellence in the care of her patients and their present and future families. A co-owner of Midwifery Women’s Care, Christine is also the President of Florida Council ACNM and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, furthering legislation to promote the health of women in the Sunshine State. Mrs. Hackshaw’s approach to women’s health is holistic and her certification as a Female Sexual Dysfunction Therapist allows her to treat all aspects of her patients and their concerns for their relationships and well-being. With nearly 13 years of experience in caring for women as a Certified Nurse Midwife and 12 years as a Registered Nurse, Christine is a highly experienced, deeply compassionate, and strongly empathetic practitioner. Christine is well-traveled, often going back to her birth country of Jamaica and visiting everywhere else in between. She has a rich appetite for life, an easy and genuine smile, and a calmness of spirit that lends itself well to her care of her patients. Christine has a loving husband of 22 years and two children, who are the delight of their lives. 

  • Ashley Karram

    CNM, MSN, APRN

    Ashley has been serving women as a CNM in South Florida since 2019. Ashley began her MIdwifery career with us at Midwifery Women’s Care. Prior to working in women's health, she worked as a registered nurse in critical care for over 6 years in Boca Raton, FL, and Chattanooga, TN at a level I trauma center. Ashley completed her Master’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude from Frontier Nursing University in 2018 and holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in 2013. Ashley is a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife who is passionate about women and advocating for their health and unborn child(ren). As a mother of two daughters, Ashley is passionate about helping women no matter their situation. She strives to ensure all her patients receive the highest quality care where physical and emotional needs are addressed. Ashley’s hope is to provide patients with a gentle touch and kind spirit that helps women to receive the care they deserve. When not working you can find Ashley spending time with her husband and two daughters, running, drinking coffee or watching football.

  • Michelle Rivera-Santiago

    CNM, MSN, APRN

    Michelle brings great passion and enthusiasm to her midwifery practice. She has been serving women in the Broward and Palm Beach area since July of 2012. Prior to attaining her Midwifery degree, she worked for over 10 years at several major medical centers as a Registered Labor and Delivery Nurse in the states of California, Florida, and New York which include New York-Presbyterian, the Weiler division of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Lenox Hill Hospital. Michelle completed a Master's Degree, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati in 2010 and holds two Baccalaureate Degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Dominican College and Fordham University. She is fully bilingual in Spanish and a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife. Michelle is a true advocate for women and their unborn children. She wants nothing more than to help each woman have the very best birth experience possible. Nevertheless, to help, protect, and empower the rest of us who desire infertility and great women's health! As a wife and mother of three Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family, exercise, and travel.

     

    Michelle trae gran pasión y entusiasmo a su práctica de Obstetricia. Ella ha estado sirviendo a las mujeres de los condados de Broward y Palm Beach desde Julio de 2012. Antes de lograr su licenciatura en Obstetricia, trabajó por más de 10 años en varios centros médicos como Enfermera Registrada en Salas de Parto en los Estados de California, Florida, y Nueva York que incluyen New York-Presbyterian, la división de Weiler de Albert Einstein College of Medicine, y Lenox Hill Hospital. Michelle completó una maestría con Honores, Magna Cum Laude, de la Universidad de Cincinnati en 2010 y tiene dos licenciaturas de bachillerato en enfermería y psicología de la Universidad Dominicana de Blauvelt y la Universidad de Fordham. Ella es completamente bilingüe en español y está certificada por la junta nacional como una Enfermera Calificada Para Ejercer la Medicina en Obstetricia con un Certificado de Post Maestría en La Salud de la Mujer. Michelle es una verdadera defensora de las mujeres y sus niños nonatos. Ella no quiere nada más que poder ayudar a cada mujer a tener la mejor experiencia posible durante el nacimiento de un niño. Como esposa y madre de tres, Michelle disfruta de pasar tiempo de calidad con su familia, hacer ejercicios, y viajar. 

  • Dr. Laura Diaz

    MD

    Laura Diaz, MD, provides obstetrics and gynecology care at Midwifery Women's Care located in Boca Raton, Florida. She has a special interest in general obstetrics, general gynecology, preventive care, and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Diaz believes in shared decision-making when it comes to patient care and always strives for open communication with her patients to ensure all concerns are addressed. Dr. Diaz completed her undergraduate education at Florida International University and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UF Health in Jacksonville, where she gained clinical experience caring for a diverse patient population. Dr. Laura Diaz is a Colombian native, fluent in both English and Spanish. She is married and has two sons. She is happy to return to South Florida after completing her training and is excited to continue to provide excellent care to women in all stages of life.
